Another Record For BABAR AZAM After Achieving ICC ODI No.1 Ranking

 Isalamabad: Pakistan captain Babar Azam, who achieved several milestones in April, has now been voted Player of the Month by the International Cricket Council (ICC).


Babar Azam was nominated for the award along with left-arm opener Fakhr Zaman and Nepal's Khushal Bhurtel.

The ICC a week ago declared the candidates for the April ICC Player of the Month grant to perceive the best exhibitions of both male and female cricketers in all types of global cricket.


Last month, Azam became the number one batsman in the MRF Tires ICC Men's ODI Player Rankings, ending the long tenure of Indian captain Virat Kohli at the top of the chart.

Azam's 94 off 82 balls in the third ODI against South Africa helped him reach a career-best 865 points with 13 rating points.He additionally contributed 122 off 59 balls in Pakistan's effective pursue in the third match of the T20 arrangement against a similar resistance.

His compatriot Zaman also performed well during the month, scoring two centuries in the ODI series against South Africa, including a stunning 193 in the second match in Johannesburg. 

Completing the men's shortlist, Bhurtel of Nepal was the highest run scorer as his team won a triangular series featuring the Netherlands and Malaysia.
